What weekend is
weekend helps you keep client details, set follow-up dates and create invoices as PDFs that you can send on WhatsApp. It does not take payments: your clients pay you directly, for example by EFT, using the banking details on your invoice, and you mark invoices as paid yourself. Features marked "Coming soon" are not part of the service yet and may change or never launch.
Your account
- Give us accurate information and keep your password safe. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- One person per account unless a plan with team seats says otherwise.
- Tell us promptly if you think someone else has accessed your account.
Plans, prices and payment
Prices are in South African rand (ZAR) per month and are shown on our pricing page. The Free plan has no charge and is limited to 10 saved clients. Archived clients count toward every plan’s client limit; deleting a client frees its slot. Paid plans are billed monthly in advance and, for now, paid by EFT. We will tell you at least 30 days before we change a price, and the change applies from your next billing period. Our Refund policy forms part of these terms.
Your data and your clients
- You own the information you put into weekend. We only use it to provide the service, as set out in our Privacy policy.
- For your clients' personal information, you are the responsible party under POPIA and we are your operator. You promise you have a lawful reason to store it and that you will deal with your clients' requests about it.
- Do not store special personal information (health, religion, race, criminal records or children's information) in weekend.
- You can export your clients and invoices at any time.
Invoices, VAT and tax
weekend gives you tools to create invoices and, if you are VAT registered, tax invoices. You decide what goes on them. You are responsible for the accuracy of every invoice, for knowing whether you must register for VAT, and for keeping records and meeting your tax obligations. weekend is not tax, accounting or legal advice.
WhatsApp and other services
weekend is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by WhatsApp or Meta. You send messages yourself, from your own WhatsApp account, and you must follow WhatsApp's terms. Only message people you have a relationship with, and respect anyone who asks you to stop. Unsolicited marketing messages are restricted by law (section 69 of POPIA and the Consumer Protection Act).
Acceptable use
Do not use weekend to break the law, send spam or abusive messages, issue false or misleading invoices, upload malicious code, try to access other people's accounts, or overload or reverse-engineer the service.
Availability and changes
We work to keep weekend available but cannot promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. We may improve, change or remove features. If we make a change that significantly reduces what you pay for, we will give you reasonable notice.
Intellectual property
weekend, its name, logo and software belong to us or our licensors. You get a limited, non-exclusive right to use the service while these terms apply. The information you put in remains yours.
Warranties and liability
We provide weekend with reasonable care and skill. Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, we do not give any other warranties. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits or lost business. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, and nothing limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act where it applies to you.
Ending the agreement
You can stop using weekend and close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after warning you where that is reasonable. After closure, we handle your data as set out in the Privacy policy.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. If we have a dispute, let us try to resolve it informally first. If that does not work, the South African courts have jurisdiction, and you keep any right you have to approach the National Consumer Commission, the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud or another statutory body.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will give account holders reasonable notice of material changes. If you keep using weekend after the change takes effect, you accept the updated terms.
